Born and raised in Southern California, I graduated from UCI with a B.A. in Social Ecology and an Early Childhood Education and Elementary Educational Credential. Shortly, after I began teaching I married my high school sweetheart, Steve. We celebrated our 28th anniversary this year. Our children Eric and Jessica are both MHCS alums. Eric graduated from CSUF and will marry his high school sweetheart this fall. Jessica spent the summer working at Forest Home Christian Camp and will begin her junior year at Biola in August.
I first began teaching at MHCS in 1984. Over the years I have taught JK, K and 2nd grade at MHCS, been assistant to Principal Larry Ahl as well as the community relations representative.
Second graders are amazing children! At this age they have mastered all the basic skills for learning. They are capable of doing so many things on their own. Their curiosity and love for learning make teaching very exciting. My favorite subject is Bible. Learning about God and His character together with my students brings us so close to each other.
Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse; “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I am so glad to be part of the plan God has for Mission Hills Christian School.
